For thickness measurement, either the resonance method or the pulse echo system shall be used.
Either contact or immersion techniques of examination shall be used.
A coupling method which ensures adequate transmission of ultrasonic energy between the testing probe and the cylinder shall be used.

b) It may be possible to produce cylinders for different service conditions from rejected cylinders.
5、Ultrasonic examination of gas bottles:
The operation of the ultrasonic examination shall be by qualified and experienced personnel certified at least to Level 1 and supervised by personnel certified at least to Level 2 in accordance with ISO 9712.
Other standards which meet or exceed these minimum requirements may be used subject to approval by the inspector.
The inner and outer surfaces of any cylinder, which is to be examined ultrasonically shall be in a condition suitable for an accurate and reproducible examination.
