4、Type approval procedure:

a) it is given a different heat treatment beyond the limits stipulated ;

b) the base or the base profile has changed, e.g. concave, convex, hemispherical, or also if there is a change in base thickness/cylinder diameter ratio;

c) the overall length of the cylinder has increased by more than 50 % (cylinders with a length/diameter ratio less than 3 shall not be used as reference cylinders for any new design with this ratio greater than 3);

d) the nominal outside diameter has changed;

e) the guaranteed minimum thickness has changed;

f) the hydraulic test pressure, ph, has been increased (where a cylinder is to be used for lower-pressure duty than that for which design approval has been given, it shall not be deemed to be a new design);

g) the guaranteed minimum yield strength, Reg and/or the guaranteed minimum tensile strength, Rmg, for the finished cylinder have changed.
