Sømløse gasflasker: En klassificering efter materiale

Gas cylinders can be categorized based on their manufacturing materials as follows:

  1. Steel Seamless Gas Cylinders

These cylinders are manufactured using steel billets through processes like stamping and drawing, or from seamless steel pipes via hot spin-forming to close the ends.   The cylinder body is made of high-quality killed steel, such as carbon steel, manganese steel, chromium-molybdenum steel, or other alloy steels, smelted via basic open-hearth furnaces, electric furnaces, or oxygen-blown basic converters.   They are designed for storing permanent gases (compressed gases) and high-pressure liquefied gases.

2.Steel Welded Gas Cylinders

These cylinders are produced from steel plates through stamping, rolling, and welding.   The cylinder body and pressure-bearing components are made of killed steel, smelted in open-hearth furnaces, electric furnaces, or oxygen converters, with material properties that ensure good stamping and welding performance. This type of cylinder is typically used for storing low-pressure liquefied gases.

3. Fiber-Wound Composite Gas Cylinders

These cylinders are constructed by winding glass fibers or carbon fibers with a binding agent. They usually feature an aluminum inner liner that ensures gas tightness, while the load-bearing strength is provided by the fiber-wound outer shell.   Known for their excellent thermal insulation and lightweight properties, these cylinders are widely used for storing breathable compressed air. They are commonly carried by firefighters, or personnel working in toxic or oxygen-deficient environments, paired with respiratory masks. Generally, these cylinders have a small capacity (1–10 liters) and are filled at pressures ranging from 150BAR to 300BAR.
